Republicans may underestimate Ted Cruz

Senator Ted Cruz (Texas)
The battle between the Senate Hawks and Doves from both parties is taking a nasty turn with the implementation of the unpopular law - the Affordable Care Act, also known as the Obamacare. Just the past few weeks, the House of Representative which is under the leadership of the Republican party, passed an bill, which calls for the funding of federal government without Obamacare. The bill now before the Senate, which is under the Democrat party, and if passed will land on the president's desk for the final signature before signing into law. But the Democrats vow to kill the bill and the far right Conservative of the Republican party led by the Libertarian and Teaparty Hawks such as Senator Ted Cruz (Texas), Mike Lee (Utah), Rand Paul (Kentucky), and Marco Rubio (Florida) also vowing to kill any Democrats attempt to tweak the law in the Senate. But instead of the funding bill sparking a battle against the two parties, it seems to open up an all out-war between the two parties and between the moderate and Hawkish, traditionalist, constitutionalist, conservative senators. The real danger for the Republican party is that the majority is with the far right conservative portion of the party and those who refusing to fight against the Obamacare, there's a high chance that the Republican party will get their butt kicked in 2014 mid-term election and perhaps 2016 presidential election.
Ted Cruz has the right to filibuster the bill because he is sent to the Senate to help fight and possibly kill Obamacare. For all Republicans who won in 2010 and 2012, their constituents will hold them accountable for their deliberate inaction and failure to stand-up against Obama and his extremely unpopular law. What voters don't want to see in their leaders is negotiation with the Democrats on their own expense, especially if that negotiation is done based on negotiation to pass a law that undermines their rights. Even if Republicans wanted to approach the Obamacare funding battle in a different way, or ways, the voters will view their inaction and their attack on Sen Cruz as an abandonment of what they stand for as constituents that care about the constitution and their liberty.
The opposition to Cruz is based on a few things but paramount of them is the fact that many leaders think that the Obamacare is the law, and it went to the Supreme Court and was upheld. These arguments implied that the law cannot be changed and that the Supreme Court's power supersedes that of Congress, but that is not the case. The power to make and amend laws lies in Congress. The SC only interpret the laws, not writing laws, nor implementing laws, thus, it is within Ted Cruz's senatorial authority to challenge and filibuster any attempt by the Democrats to shove a law down American throats.
In addition to that, the Democrats cannot have it both ways - passing a law and "exempting themselves" from the effect of that law. In making the case for the Obamacare, President Obama made so many promises: some are being broken while the most damning ones are poised to take effects after the end of this year, 2013. One of the promises he made was that he Obamacare would help family saves money, today, many people are losing their health coverage and hundreds thousands more will lose their health coverage. Another promise that the president and Democrats gave the American people is that the Obamacare is not going to add a "single dime" to the US debt. That promise has been debunked right from the start as the cost of goods and services went up as a result of higher taxes on oil industry, higher regulatory taxes on smaller businesses, and increased taxes and healthcare requirements for employers and their employees. These are deliberate distortions created by the Democrat party to sale the people a law which never congress nor the president read prior to becoming a law.
But the arrogance of all these shenanigans is the Democrats and President Obama passed a law which supposed to be all good for the voters, but a bill they never read. As they began studying this, they realized that the Healthcare may destroy their own wealth and their bundlers' wealth and resources. And they also realized that the Senator Grassly's amendment which forces Congress to be subjected to the same law, would hurt them tremendously. After all these new revelations, though Republicans have warned about them during the debate in 2009-10, the President took upon himself the "rights," which the constitution doesn't accord him, to exempt Congress from Obamacare. He and his administration also decided to delay the Employer Mandate until the end of next year while keeping all ordinary Americans subjected to this monstrous job killing, tax increasing bill. They didn't do it in a transparent way, it was announced on a government website - a weird way of informing the people. All these exemptions showed that the fools who shoved this laws through congress refused to live under it!
It is important that Republicans support Ted Cruz over this if not, the Republicans who don't will get the boot next year!
