Martin Luther King had a great dream - he dreamed of a nation unified by
one purpose: to fulfill the words of the founding fathers, i.e all are
created in the image of God and are thereby equal. In a nation where
those who inked the very words embedded in the Bill of Rights
yet still had slaves working in their backyards, his speech and his
dream broke the yoke of that bond, forcing White Americans to recognize
the words of their own founding documents, giving all Americans
(regardless) the opportunity to live together as equal citizens of this
great country.
