Snapshot of the healthcare website which was crashed the moment it was launched and still going through glitches |
Observations: Just finished watching the creators of the healthcare website appearing before a House Committee to give answers for the abysmal execution of the Obamacare website and why $600+ million was spent on it but never took off properly. The two sides engaged in pretty much the "talking points" of the political parties, but what I am interested in is what the Democrat representatives touted as successful stories of the website. In fact, I tried to sign up a couple of times; the first time it was a huge bust, the second time, I was able to get in but since my family have a good health insurance, I opted not to buy a healthcare insurance policy from the exchange. But the numbers the Democrats thrown out there are not numbers of people purchasing insurance policies through the website, now I know why the site has a register process - so that the figures can be used to measure the success of the site. However, you can have half a million registered visitors and only a few thousands able to purchase an insurance policy from the exchange. That's the number this government refuses to reveal and one that Republican are asking through the "Freedom of Information" to disclose. So when politicians touted the number of registered users it doesn't mean more than half a million people are able to get medical insurance policy through this website, just registered uses which main be people who already have a policy but want to see what's in there, or perhaps including journalists and reporters trying to see what's in there. This is just another example of politician playing with words and figures to create an image that is not there.
