Let me put it this way - Lilo, you are out of your freaking head! There's no reason why Taiwan should establish a Chinese speaking school in Solomon Islands. This is not in the best interest of Solomon Islanders, besides, if our government wants Chinese (Mandarin) to be taught to Solomon Islanders, why not making it an optional course for high school or colleges as do many schools in Australia and USA? This is just another way of Taiwanese digging deeper in to Solomon Islands' society in an attempt to teach Solomon Islands' the Taiwanese/Chinese culture and values.
In all, it is unnecessary. English is still the language of commerce in the world and we should say no to this ridiculous idea, and the notice that somehow global trade has shifted to Asia therefore wantoks need to learn Chinese. It is time we stop playing with our own sovereignty for quick money. What next? establishing a Russian and Cuban/Spanish speaking school?
