The UK media aint so nice to the Samoan international Rugby star, Manu Tuilagi, despite all that he done for UK national Rugby. Either his critics have their own preferred centers (in mind) to Tuilagi, or they are just trying to motivate the youngster to improve himself. Either way, the criticisms against him are flat out baseless - they are absurdly far from the truth.
Will Greenwood is one of those critics. He wrote on the Telegraph (UK) website:
.. there are still areas where he is a long way from being a world beater.
Defensively he still gets fixed on the man and not what is happening around
him: he could have walked in under the posts last Saturday, picking off a
Freddie Burns pass that whistled past his nasal hair with him none the
wiser. He has no kicking game whatsoever.(Telegraph.co.uk)
According to this lunatic, Tuilagi is not a good defender and kicker, therefore, he is no way near "world class" player status. He argues that Tuilagi is not aware of whats going around him, making him a less effective defensive player. This wannabe Rugby analyst, however, doesn't provide a single example to back his argument, so readers can just take his whole assessment of the star as nothing but mere opinion.
Rugby is about the man that carries the ball, and it is the duty of the team to know whats' going on around them. Tuilagi did two important Try saving tackles against South Africa during the 2011 Rugby World-cup and the UK Rugby tour to South Africa earlier this year. That is class!
Tuilagi faced the All Blacks for the first time in yesterday's match, and he sure did a lot of damage to the All Blacks. He not only scored a Try of his own, he also set up Tries and helped shut down Cory Jane, the All Blacks sprinter Winger, and the All Blacks backliners. If this doesn't satisfy his critics, I don't know what else would.
