Politicization of Sandy Hook Elementary Massacre

The trauma will subside, the tears will dry up, Americans will move on, but the hearts of the children and teachers of Sandy Hook Elementary school, will forever scarred by this event. You can see it in their face; the fear and  confusion - the shock and anguish. For us who watched from a distance, the heroic, the love exhibited by those who run toward the sound of gunshots and became victims themselves, the teacher that shielded her students from the gun man and was gunned down, the brave teacher who locked her kids up in the bathroom  instead of running for her life, and trying to tell the students that something else was down the hall-way, knowing she may never walked out of that room alive; are immeasurable. They are indeed our heroes. Their stories indeed touched our hearts as parents, and our lives in deeper ways. Their stories will surely bring tears to the eyes of any one stumbling on on this account in generations to come.

However, as usual, politicians didn't spare a moment to embrace the victims' families and their memories. They're looking for opportunities to expand their partisan political targets. This time, they are going after the "National Rifle Association" - NRA. For such a traumatic event, the last thing we need is politicians exploiting the situation for their own political end, but this is exactly what's going on in Washington, D.C. The Democrat leadership is looking to eradicate the Second Amendment from the US Constitution. They seek to turn a national tragedy into a point-scoring political battle. They are out to kill the NRA. But Why NRA?
They blame NRA for lobbying for the protection of the the Second Amendment, which gives Americans the right to bear arms. In fact, states have their own laws, and most of the state laws have nothing to do with NRA, but one thing for sure - NRA is a very conservative organization mostly supportive of the Republican party and Democrat leaders who have the same love for guns. Notice that none of the arguments against NRA is based on data nor statistics, they are based solely on "perceptions" and "ideology". While it makes sense to ban guns, it is utterly irresponsible for those pushing for such radical change to ignore the fact  that most of the States with stricter gun-laws do have higher crime rate and gun related crimes. New York, Chicago, CA, and Washington, D.C are examples of places that banned guns but not seen any reduction in gun-related crimes.
It is also ironic that the Democrat party that criticized Governor Mitt Romney earlier this year of exploiting the attack on a US Embassy in Egypt and Libya for political gains are now exploiting this particular incident for their own political game. The media is helping in this Democrat assault. The best thing to do is to allow the families to mourn, giving them some contributions to ensure they live the remaining few days of the year in peace. Leave the political bickering and put off all political innuendos for later
