Just a couple of weeks before the national election (presidential), the media apparently doing its best to protect the president, and doing so against all media, journalistic ethics. The role of the media is to inform public about issues that they may not know, but today, the media is simply in the Democrat party's basket. Journalists refusal to challenge president Barrack Obama on his handling of the Benghazi incident which left four American dead, is a violation of what journalists stand for. This is a huge scandal. A terrible failure of the Obama administration's approach to foreign policy, and no one seemed to ask just how exactly did things happened. The norm is that when a national tragedy like this occurred, the president is the first to tell the nation what happened and publicly sending condolence to the victims' families. This is not the case with this; somehow, this incidents is treated as if it never happened.
After blaming a video nobody saw, and after accusing the maker of the video and apologizing to Muslims, the truth finally but gradually emerged. Began with the testimony of state department officers and people on the ground in Libya who told the House Oversight Committee that their pleas for security at the embassy were constantly turned down by the State department. While committee members are doing their best to get to the bottom of the issue, the Obama administration continued its poorly designed coverup; sending officials, including the US Ambassador to the UN, to various news outlets to deny any criticism that the administration may have been informed of the attack hours prior or during the attacks.
But the leaks of the correspondences between the Obama White House and State department indicated that current administration is engaging in a senseless cover up of this tragic event. These emails show the Obama administration distorted and lied about the incident right from the start. These damning incriminating evidence should be the downfall of Obama, yet the major news outlets refused to talk about it. Even when the scandal grew louder, the media devoted just 50 seconds of their time brushing through it; mostly downplaying any negative impact these emails may have on the Obama administration.
Contrary to the barrage of criticism from these media outlets against the War in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Bush's handling of interrogation of detainees and terrorists at GITMO, these same arrogant media people now trying to cover up a potentially devastating scandal, all because the president is a Democrat.
Furthermore, the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, even downplayed the emails and internet facebook and twitter postings that terrorists were behind the attack. Not shockingly, no journalist(s) dares to ask why she didn't deny the emails came from her department. If Clinton didn't deny the authenticity of the emails, she simply validated the idea that the Obama administration lied about the whole event.
It is obvious from the beginning that the Obama administration lied about when they knew about the attack, the nature of the attack, and the cause of the attack. And off course, the media - and journalists in general - are doing the most disgraceful and dishonorable work of covering up this scandal. And yes, the worst thing that American voters want is a president that lie to them for political expediency.
It is said that a scandal is journalist gold-mine, but this devastating scandal - to these leftwing journalists - is nonexistent. Sad indeed!
