This is absolutely ridiculous! The Georgians have filed a "Ethnic Cleansing Lawsuit Against Russia" while Russia is working on a court case against Georgia for war crimes; they claimed Georgian military committed war crimes before the Russian military entered Georgia. As stupid as it may seemed, to hold another state accountable for war crime is perhaps the most complicated lawsuit in the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Hours after US Sec. of State. Ms. Condolezza Rice announced NATO's support for Georgia and called for unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops from Georgia, and also signaled NATOs intention to temporarily cut off ties with Moscow, Russia responded by denying occupying any country at all. Did I miss something? Isn't Georgia a country of its own? Isn't Russia troops camping inside Georgia and setting up check-points? This is occupation!!
Now, this is gibberish talking at it best for NATO leadership. NATO is talking too much while Russia continues its control of Georgia and are now less then 30 km off the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi. It is rather stupid to assume that the Russian forces who defined the conditions of the truces brokered by France and acted contrary hours later, would listen and leave. This is preposterous!
Was the Exchange of Prisoner Genuine?
Modern Russia is headed by a former KGB head, Vladimir Putin, and said to have some of the brilliant leaders of Eastern Europe, but this war is painting a terrible picture of these people. The Russians are either too cunning (politically) or are extremely stupid in their handling of the Georgian issue. Their attitude in front of the camera (whether they knew it or being shot without their knowledge) shows a military of undisciplined thugs and idiots. The Russians have already lost the media battle and are seen by countries all over the world as the brutal guys. They did stupid things that are aired on TV and the Internet everywhere.
The latest arrest they carried out in Georgia is the best example of Russian stupidity: it poses a very serious question, 'whether the Russians were serious or genuine about the exchange of prisoners'. They wanted five men captured by Georgia, and they handed over 15 Georgian POWs. But hours later, they arrested (as if they are the ultimate ruler of Georgia) a number of Georgians whom eyewitnesses said were service (military) men. They betrayed the Georgians and the world in this prisoners swap knowing fully well that they would replace the 15 released prisoners in a heartbeat? That seems to be the case.
In another instance, a journalist caught Russian forces looting and destroying things in Gori.
While Russian politicians went on air and announced that the Russian forces in Georgia were providing security and maintaining law and order in the most "humane way," their soldiers have been doing just the opposite.
Another group of Journalists came across Russians at a check-point, dressing up in Georgian military uniforms they stole while directing traffic and they were also drunk.
However, the worst Russian stunt captured by world media, occurred when a number of Tanks entering Gori. Knowing fully well that the Georgians have signed a peace agreement to end all combat, and that Russia announced its troops were pulling out, these tanks rolled the other way. These maniacs rolled their tanks into Gori in front of swarms of journalists with video cameras and digital cameras, flattened police cars that were blocking the roads and entered Gori. What the hell were they thinking?
In all, it seems that the Russians are just as stupid as the one leading them who think that the collapse of the Soviet was a mistake. Their claim that Georgia instigated or started this war, doesn't match their own activities inside Georgia. The Russian military activities in Georgia were basically a mission to dismantle Georgian military infra-structure and by doing it in front of Television camera, they are losing the world's opinion and sympathy. They can go on TV and defend Russian invasion of Georgia, but their actions inside Georgia depicting an indisciplined Russian forces and an unorganized military who seemed to do things contrary to the Russian rhetoric.
Who is is the bad guys? the Russians.
Russians president's lies/Russian forces looting Gori
